Second semester is here, and with it comes a whole new area of study in art class!
The Art I students are working on learning about the art element of value, and how it is important in shading the four basic forms. We are learning how to draw the forms and shade them correctly, and will be using them in a new Op Art project later on. Other projects will include clay and paper arts.
The Art II students are learning how to blend values using colors in different mediums in preparation for the Memory Project portraits, so they can decide which medium is their strongest to use for their child's portrait. These be sent out in early April. (Parents: there is a $15 shipping fee that has been traditionally covered by the artist, in order to ship the portrait back to the child.) We will also be exploring clay this semester!
